Retrospective digitalisation of historic press articles

Within the framework of the DFG project “Retrospective digitalisation of historic press cuttings on paper, microfilm and microfiche” the historic press material in the archives of the ZBW will be digitalised from the period of 1826 to the currency reform in 1948 or rather the foundation of the Federal Republic in 1949.

Included are press cuttings, year-end reports, festschrifts and other material about individual persons, commodities and products, companies and other corporate bodies as well as topics from the entire world economy.

Until now these materials could be used only on site. To make access easier for you they are being digitalised, formatted and presented on the internet in this database. About 5.7 million documents from the period mentioned above are thus provided.
