In the online catalogue ECONIS you will find 4.4 million title records for printed and electronic economics literature from all over the world. Around 90,000 new entries are added every year.
ECONIS contains books and journals from the fields of economics, business studies and business practice. In addition, ECONIS lists articles from journals or compilations. A distinguishing feature of the database is the high proportion of literature which is not available through the book trade, e.g. working and discussion papers, dissertations and statistics.
Searching ECONIS in German or English will yield precise results even for complex questions. A comfortable search by topical keywords is possible, since the literature is indexed according to the STW Thesaurus for Economics.
The literature contained in ECONIS can be ordered through the document delivery services of the ZBW. If you have a ZBW user card you can order most titles online and pick them up on location in Hamburg or Kiel. You will find further information about this in the section “Borrowing from ECONIS”. Approx. 100,000 titles in ECONIS are linked to a full-text so that you can access them directly from your work station.
This catalogue contains the older holdings of the ZBW Kiel / Hamburg. They are also listed in ECONIS, but the old catalogue offers various approaches for a thematic search for older literature.
The Card Catalogue of the ZBW Hamburg (formerly Library of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics) contains records for books, annual periodicals and articles.
