Port - Reference management system

Information about Z39.50-Access

If you plan to export references from our database ECONIS into your reference management software, you can use the so-called Z39.50 port in most cases.

The Z39.50 port is an international standard protocol for communication between library database systems (servers) and access programmes (clients, such as reference management software). Z39.50 enables searches within the databases and transmission of references. Most reference management programmes have a Z39.50-compatible function to import data sets.

The Z39.50 port for our online catalogue is provided by the Common Library Network (GBV).
