

In the ZBW in Kiel the following premises are at your disposal:
The ZBW in Kiel has two reading rooms on the second floor where you can read and connect your own laptop. In addition there is a periodicals reading room (second floor) where the current issues of a selection of the most widely read and renowned newspapers and journals are on display.
In the group study area on the third floor you can work in teams, connect your own laptops and have a conversation without disturbing others. Here you will also find our cafeteria which offers non-alcoholic drinks and sweets from vending machines for your break.
The internet workstations are located on the first floor of the library. Here you can search our online catalogue ECONIS and order your literature. Here you also have access to the electronic journals and databases for which the ZBW has a user’s license and which are generally not accessible outside of the ZBW. The internet workstations are connected to our fee-bearing network printer.
In the ZBW in Kiel there is one stand-alone workstation available where you can use removable data carriers. At this PC you can access our CD-ROM databases and use Microsoft Office programmes. The PC is connected to a printer. It is located in the media room on the first floor of the ZBW in Kiel.
In the ZBW in Kiel book carts are at your disposal. You can reserve these carts if you work regularly in the ZBW and wish to lock up your documents.

This collection was bequeathed to the ZBW by Professor Erich Schneider, president of the Institute for the World Economy from 1961 to 1969. It contains a selection of literature from the first half of the 20th century and classics in economics bought from the antiquarian book trade as well as diploma theses and dissertations of Erich Schneider’s doctoral candidates. The main focus of this collection is on works from the Keynesian School and the Scandinavian region. This non-lending library is located on the ground floor of the ZBW old building.

Our print and copy service (opening times Mo - Fr. 9.00 - 17.00h) offers a microfilm scanner where microfilms and microfiches can be read. You can also make print copies of microfilms and microfiches or have them made for you.
In the media room on the first floor of the ZBW in Kiel there is another microfiche reader, but no prints can be made at this machine.
