Mit dem Weltwirtschaftlichen Preis wird Daniel Kahneman in der Kategorie Wirtschaftswissenschaft ausgezeichnet.

Daniel Kahneman, geboren am 05. März 1934 in Tel Aviv (Israel), ist ein israelisch-amerikanischer Psychologe, der 2002 zusammen mit Vernon L. Smith den Wirtschaftsnobelpreis erhalten hat. Kahnemann wurde "für das Einführen von Einsichten der psychologischen Forschung in die Wirtschaftswissenschaft, besonders bezüglich Beurteilungen und Entscheidungen bei Unsicherheit" geehrt. Er ist seit 2007 emeritierter Professor der Psychologie und Senior Scholar und hat außerdem die Eugene-Higgins-Professur für Psychologie an der Woodrow Wilson School für öffentliche und internationale Angelegenheiten der Princeton Universität inne. Kahneman ist außerdem seit 2000 Mitglied im Center for Rationality der Hebräischen Universität in Jerusalem. In den letzten Jahren hat sich sein Arbeitsschwerpunkt auf die Glücksforschung verlagert.
