Mit dem Weltwirtschaftlichen Preis wird Victor Chu in der Kategorie Management ausgezeichnet.

Victor Lik Lap Chu ist 1957 in Canton (China) geboren und seit 1988 Vorsitzender der First Eastern Investment Group, eine der führenden Investmentgesellschaften in China. Sein Unternehmen hat sich auf Eigenkapital und Venture Capital und insbesondere auf die Finanzierung von Unternehmensexpansionen spezialisiert. Die First Eastern Investment Group investiert in die Fertigungs- und Bauindustrie, Finanz- und Immobilienwirtschaft, vor allem in China, Indonesien, Korea, Malaysia, den Philippinen, Singapur, Taiwan und Thailand. Sie hat ihren Hauptsitz in Hongkong und Niederlassungen in Shanghai und Peking.
