Lawrence H. Summers, der seit diesem Jahr wieder Professor an der renommierten Harvard Universität ist, hat in den letzten 20 Jahren der Politik in unterschiedlichen Positionen gedient. Er war Vizepräsident und Chefökonom in der Entwicklungsökonomieabteilung der Weltbank (1991-1993), Staatssekretär und selbst Minister im Finanzministerium der USA (1993-1995, 1999-2001) und wirtschaftspolitischer Berater von Präsident Obama von 2008-2010. Dazwischen war er Präsident an der Harvard Universität (2001-2006). Er lebt mit seiner Frau und den sechs Kindern in Brooklin, USA (Homepage vom 10.05.2011).
