ZBW Consortium

The ZBW Consortium negotiates fair licence agreements for information sources in economics. Fair in this context means approporiate usage rights and framework conditions.

More than 400 libraries and scientific institutions in Germany profit from the consortial agreements negotiated by the ZBW. By pooling interests, better conditions can be achieved for each individual institution.

The products offered by the ZBW Consortium for scientific institutions are listed in GASCO-Monitor, a central platform for consortia.

Services of the ZBW Consortium:

  • negotiation of costs and contractual terms,
  • administration of the consortium for the respective licence,
  • advice about licensed products.

The consideration of the Open Access transformation is one focus when concluding consortial agreements.

The ZBW belongs to a circle of consortium-leading institutions in Germany. The ZBW Consortium is a member of various umbrella organisations of library consortia at the national and international level, the German, Austrian and Swiss Consortia Organisation (GASCO) and the International Coalition of Library Consortia (ICOLC). The ZBW is also active in Arbeitskreis Forum 13+, a working group for experts in Open Access transformation negotiations.

If you represent an institution interested in participating in a consortium, or if you have any questions or suggestions for these offers, you are welcome to contact our team.
