Training at the ZBW

Take the first step to your future career with an apprenticeship at our Kiel or Hamburg branch. We offer to train you as a specialist for media and information services in libraries (FaMI).

The training lasts three years. During these years you will get a comprehensive insight into the dynamic and exciting working environment of the world’s largest information infrastructure for economics. We’ll make you fit for the acquisition, indexation and provision of media and information. You will also learn how to structure data according to international rules and how to search modern databases and essential reference works. You will also advise our users.

You will attend the vocational school in Hamburg two days a week. The theoretical part of the apprenticeship is complemented with trainings in our branches.

The new training year at the ZBW is expected to start on 1 September 2024. You will find the application form for this later in our job offers. We look forward to your applications.
